About the company

est mika:timing is one of the leading players in the Nordic region in electronic timing and results management for sports events. We work with clients such as Vasaloppet, Göteborgsvarvet, and Marathongruppen, where we deliver technical solutions for online registrations, manage timing and results, as well as event apps. Today, we are 8 people in Sweden with our headquarters in Kungsbacka, and the parent company is located in Germany.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with online and mobile solutions to create the best experiences for participants. You will work with our in-house developed systems and databases, as well as systems from external suppliers. You will configure the systems to meet various customer requirements, conduct simulations before competitions, and finally control and monitor during the competition. You will also be present at events, where you will configure and monitor timing equipment and IT systems.

The role involves a lot of customer contact, as you will closely collaborate with clients and participate in the entire chain from the first customer contact to follow-up. You will coordinate internally with both Swedish and German colleagues to ensure a complete and successful delivery.

In this position, you will primarily work from the office in Kungsbacka. During a few weekends each year, you will be required to work at events as a technician and sometimes also as a project manager. You will work closely with other IT specialists and project managers, who will provide you with introduction and support in the role.

Education, Experience, and Qualities

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Education in a relevant IT field
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL)
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
  • A valid driver's license (B)

A genuine interest in computers and IT, along with the ability to quickly understand needs and find solutions, is key to successfully fulfilling the role. With many different clients, various types of events, and different conditions, you need to be structured and good at planning. You should have an easy time building new relationships and enjoy a role with broad contact surfaces.
